A Travel App to Guide You & Inspire You
For solo travelers, getting lost in a foreign country where you don’t speak the language can be rather daunting. Whilst looking for the Boboli Gardens in Florence, I accidentally walked into a private apartment’s garden. There was an elaborate iron gate (which was wide open) and a hedge maze so I assumed I was in the right place. Oops!
The travel app GPSmyCity would have been really handy when I was recklessly wandering around Florence by myself. Prior to my trip, I could have downloaded travel stories about Boboli Gardens and other points of interest in Florence. Once in the city, I would have been able to find my way to museums and gardens through their GPS walking directions, and enjoy reading the articles along the way without needing to hunt for free wifi or use really expensive data roaming.
The articles are free to access once you’ve downloaded the GPSmyCity app (also free!) but if you want the version with the map and GPS direction, you’ll have to upgrade for a small fee of US$0.99. That’s still way cheaper than paying for data roaming and more convenient than lugging around a guidebook.
I’m thrilled to announce that GPSmyCity is featuring my articles in the travel app! As an introduction to the app, we’re offering a free upgrade to two of my articles for one week only (Aug 1 to Aug 7, 2016):
Travel through Time in Savannah, Georgia
My other three articles in GPSmyCity relate to Thailand and recommendations on where to go, and tips on cultural expectations, navigating the public transport system and lots more! If you’re planning a trip to this gorgeous country, do check out my articles about Bangkok and Chiang Rai:
The Mysterious Black House of Chiang Rai
Three Terrific Days in Bangkok
